So you're interested in joining us at Strokes.....
We have classes that run on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons at Norwich High School for Girls. All our lessons are 30 minutes long - we have found that having a longer lesson is not alway the best practice when learning to swim as the swimmers can lose concentration over the longer period when they get tired. Our beginner classes always have a teacher in the water, so parents don't need to go in the water themselves.
Once the swimmers are in the water, parents are free to sit on poolside and watch their children learn to swim in the hands of our fabulous swimming teachers. The only things you'll need to bring is the swimmers swimwear, a hat, a pair of goggles and a towel. We provide everything else such as floats, woggles, sinkers etc.
What spaces do you have available.....
Simply use the below button! All the classes you can see have at least one vacancy available to be booked. Click on the class you like to see more detail and reserve a place. This is a live page so it will update automatically when spaces become available so if you are on the waiting list - keep coming back here frequently as spaces may appear!
What's the charge for the lessons.....
All our children's lessons with the exception of our Pre-Comp lessons are charged at a competitive rate of £6.50 per 30 minute lesson paid in advance per term. We also charge a £3 booking fee per swimmer per term to cover admin costs.
So, the total cost for a standard 10 week term, with one 30 minute lesson per week would cost just £68.00 (£65 +£3 booking fee)
Each term may have a different number of weeks so please do not expect the bill to be the same each term - it depends how many lessons we can fit into the term.
We do not currently run lessons during the school holidays, so you only pay for lessons during term time only.
How do teachers assess the swimmers.....
Each term we aim to conduct 2 weeks of assessments towards the end of each term of swimming, just before the school holidays. The criteria included within the assessments is a national framework set by the National Governing Body for Swimming in England - Swim England. You can read more about the NPTS and what’s included from here.
If a swimmer has passed a stage, certificates and badges can be purchased on the last day of term via your teacher.
What ability level do I fit into.....
Our classes range from complete beginners all the way through to pre-competitive swimmers. A list of times that each of our lessons take place is below: -
